I worked for the Census Bureau in 2000. The best part was meeting veterans from WWII, Korea and Vietnam. After reading their DD-214's and then meeting these humble men was an unforgettable experience. These men who accomplished such great and heroic things but to them they were only " just doing their job. " They taught me what a real hero looked like. Audie Murphy was that guy.

I have a 10 year old son who loves Audie !!! I introduced him to his westerns when he was 4 and we’ve watched alot of them together. He even dresses like him. Sadly he doesn’t know he’s dead and I don’t have the heart to tell him otherwise. I was glad to find this website. I thought there was a petition to sign on here but I didn’t see it. I will be back again.
