Thee most decorated and Courageous American of the second world war, a Texas Boy like myself who lost his mother as a teenager and hopped out of school in grade 8 and worked below wage and joined the US Army at 17, A street boy in those times that dedicated his life to his country and returned a few years later as the wars most decorated soldier. I have the outright most respect for this man being a Texas boy myself and knowing all his heroic actions. He returned a Hero but a broken man suffering PTSD and having many nightmares and always had a loaded Pistol under his pillow, I salute you and plan on visiting your grave in the future. ![]() Added: November 29, 2017

Major Murphy endured many trials both in war and in life. My Father-in-Law was a survivor of the Bataan Death March and so I know first hand what post tramatic stress does to a man. I can't imagine what Major Murphy had to go thru with his PTSD issues, yet he accomplished many wonderful things in his life. I am proud to be a Brother Mason and thru my wife proud to be related to another MOH recipient, Sgt, Alvin C. York. I will visit his grave the next time I am at Arlington and render him s salute from an old retired 26 year + Vietnam Navy Veteran Chief Petty Officer. Added: December 30, 2017

Hello, I am a SAMC from 1986 while stationed at Ft. Hood TX. I am retired form military. But, I was wondering how I could get the SAMC medal and all the perks that come along with my membership. CSM Poole was the CSM at the time I was Inductee. I seen my name on the wall last year when I visited my daughter and grandkids. Added: December 28, 2017

I am working on a music video based on a song I wrote in 1972 called "Audie Murphy's Song." I don't want people to forget what he and men like him did for our Country. If this guestbook is being systematically maintained I hope to hear back from you regarding permissions and credits for using some of your photos. Thanks, Brooks Bryan, Cpt.
