I admire Audie Murphy for his contribution and service to the Country of the United States! As a highly decorated hero, he should never be forgotten! President Trump would be admired for presenting him the MeMefal of Homor. I would love to see this done in my generation’ Uear of 2018! Added: February 19, 2018

I remember seeing Murph on TV as a kid, and, I made some comment to my dad, while watching Red Badge of Courage, I said, "Who is that guy?" and, my dad said aghast, "Son, you don't know who that is?...that's Audie Murphy." Murphy had some kind of special quality that made me want to read about and understand him. Off and on over the years I'll read a book or story about him or watch "No name on the Bullet" or "To Hell and Back." and it just puts me in this frame of mind that, thru perseverance and courage and blind luck, everything has a way of working out and you just gotta do the best you can and not quit. I served in the 197th Inf Bde from 1988-1992. During that time, I led a tank platoon in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After that, the 197th Inf Bde became 3rd Bde, 24th Inf Div. Since I left the Army, 24th Inf Div reflagged as 3rd Inf Div, Audie Murphy's outfit. Proud of that very distant link between me and such a hero. Added: January 26, 2018

I am a British Normandy Veteran 1944, Sherman tank commander and have written books about those battles. I am now writing another book about 20 outstanding heroes of 1944/5 NorthWest Europe. One chapter features Audie whose war fame is largely forgotten in Britain. I want to revive this. I urgently need a photo of Audie for the book. Please advise me. Many thanks. I started hearing about Audie Murphy as a small child. My only brother I never knew was killed in France 1944. I think Mr. Murphy and my brother would have liked each other don't ask me why I just do. I have always been honored to have a brother in the "Rangers" and proud Audie was such a brave and noble man. I was so hurt when he passed. I wanted him to go on with that boyish face that fought for us and made us happy on the screen. I still miss him, and my brother.
