A photo of Audie Murphy during the filming of Joe Butterfly

This photo was taken during the month of August, 1956 on location in Japan during the filming of "Joe Butterfly". The person to the right of Audie Murphy is George Martin, the contributor of the photo. George was on "R-and-R" at the time of the photo and had the opportunity to visit the set. The soldier to the left of Audie wearing the 1st Cavalry patch and neckerchief is unidentified. Most of the filming of "Joe Butterfly" occurred at Chofu U.S. Army Airfield on the outskirts of Tokyo and a few other locations nearby. Chofu airfield has since been turned over to the Japanese Self Defense Forces.
