Special cancellation marks on envelopes were issued by the U.S. Postal Service on other occassions. Since 1996 as the stamp petition drive developed momentum and because of the annual Audie Murphy Day Celebration in Greenville, Texas the USPS has approved special stamp cancellation marks honoring Audie Murphy. The cancellation mark includes a profile shot of Audie Murphy head over a tank destroyer and bears the words "Above and Beyond."

Issued on June 16, 2006. The cancellation mark says "Audie Leon Murphy Station. Audie Murphy Days. Audie Murphy / American Cotton Museum.Jun 18, 2004. Greenville TX, 75401." The cancellation mark includes a profile shot of Audie Murphy's face and the envelope also has printed photos of Audie Murphy from the movie TO HELL AND BACK and are captioned with "Audie L. Murphy, June 20 1924 - May 28, 1971. From a poor farm boy to the most decorated WWII combat soldier to a Famous Hollywood Movie Star." Another photo depicts a formation of the famous Tuskegee Airmen of World War II. It's caption states "Marching across the campus at Tuskegee Institute. This year, 2006, Audie L. Murphy days is paying tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen of WWII. Also to all of the Americans that have served in the U.S. Military to keep freedom for the United States of America."

Issued on June 18, 2005. The cancellation mark says "Audie Leon Murphy Station. Audie Murphy Days. Audie Murphy / American Cotton Museum.Jun 18, 2004. Greenville TX, 75401." The cancellation mark shows the stamped image of the old Greenville Post Office where Audie Murphy enlisted in the U.S. Army. The envelope also includes a photograph of the old post office with vintage automobiles parked in front of it. The photograph is captioned with the words "Audie Murphy enlisted in the Army in this Post Office building on June 20, 1942."
