My father, Richard G. Niehoff, joined Third Div. Fifteen Regiment prior to invasion at Anzio. I have determined he was in 1st Battalion because his metal, Presidential Unit Citation, had oak leaf cluster, like Audie Murphy. He continued with unit until raising US flag over Wolf Lair in Birchasgaden, Austria, at end of WWII. Added: January 22, 2025

My late Husband name was Audie Dunning he loved Audie Murphy his service to out country and his movies. He was 5ft 8 in and 145 lbs. But like Audie Murphy he was his own man. He always said he was named after him. Thank you Mr. Murphy fir your service and movies and the songs. Added: January 18, 2025 Powered by PHP Guestbook - brought to you by PHP Scripts

As a former marine officer.ie captain;no other in history, fought so hard on one hand to be killed and to single handedly kill every german there was in the german army....it is sad that one so full of courage, forgot about safety,to succeed in his duty out of pain for his lost buddy or to make every german pay for it ..it amazes me how he and General Patton died oddly in a similar way and l am thoroughly grateful Audie did what he did, not for honor, but caring.l wish his memory would go on eternally
